Guest guest
Hi Rita, I am interested in knowing what brands of unflavored protein powder you use and where to obtain it. Thanks, Pat Rita Black wrote: HI,Seems a lot of people have problems getting their protein shakes down. I found what may be a solution for some. Jello with Protein. Take one package of Sugar-free Jello and make as usual. When it is well mixed and starting to cool down. Add Unflavored Protein Powder according to package directions to be equal to 2-8oz shakes (with my soy powder it was 4 scoops, 2 for each 8 oz.). Mix well, use an electric mixer if possible. Makes 4 servings, equal to 1/2 a shake.Mine jelled into 3 layers. The upper and lower layer contained most powder and had a different texture, but not unpleasent. Add a little Cool Whip and eat your shake. I think I prefer this to shakes. Rita Black 10/17/2000 First Consult. Dr.Macura Open BPD/DS 4/23/2001 4/23/01 - 400lbs. BMI 63 5/1/01 - 391lbs. Guest guest
Pat: I know there are lots of choices but the unflavored protein powder we have found that sits best with us is Zero Carb Isopure. The Zero Carb is misleading as we use Lactaid Milk and frozen fruits to make our shakes so they have a fair number of carbs. It is available at most health food stores and locally at GNC just down the road from us. Many supermarkets also carry it. I would point out that is a very individual taste and what works for me may well not for you. Try small sizes until you hit on the brand you like. YMMV. Regards. Guest guest
I don't know if this is true or not, but I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that the protein breaks down fairly quickly once it has been mixed with something. This would mean that you wouldn't want to make more than one serving at a time, which would be pretty difficult with Jell-O. I am not sure of this, but would hate to see someone think they were getting adequate protein when they may not be. Maggie
