Thanks Eleanor. I will remember to chew chew chew. I

guess I am looking forward to my son's birthday on the

4th as they always would ask me why I would not have a

hotdog (14 and 11). Well, I will be careful :>)

I would recommend trying one BEFORE the birthday, at home. That way, if

it turns out you CAN'T handle it, you won't embarrass yourself or mess

up your enjoyment of a special day. This is always a good idea with

foods you aren't sure about. The first time, try it in a setting where

negative consequences won't be as upsetting. Then if the food does cause

problems, you'll know to have something else. You can try that food

again in a few weeks.

Yes, I found two hot dogs/sausages, both

from Costco, that don’t cause me a reaction.

One has no sugar while the other has

dextrose.

Contrary to Elaine’s BTVC version of

SCD Dr. Haas in his reprinted 1951 book titled, “Management of Celiac

Disease” experimented with glucose and fructose to help his hospitalized

patients gain weight. Dextrose is also known as Glucose, a true

monosaccharide. I have been using both dextrose and fructose to gain all

of my lost weight back.

Costco has both polish sausages and hot

dogs that they serve in their food courts. The polish sausage has sucrose

type disaccharide sugar that will make us sick. Their hot dogs (also sold

in the chill section) only has dextrose.

The Costco sausage is chicken something

but I don’t think I have the product number. I kind of think this

product may only be available in Hawaii.

Aloha,

Mort

Hi,

I know most processed foods are off limits. But I am wondering if anyone eats

hot dogs? Is there a brand that is legal?

Thanks, good luck to all

I think applegate farms has a turkey hot dog that looks pretty innocent. BUT I DON'T REMEMBER FOR SURE. Please don't take my word for it - check it out first.

They do contain beef, water, sea salt, and less than 2% of the following: celery juice, sodium lactate from beets, lactic acid starter culture (not from milk), onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, other spices. I don't know what the "other spices" are, but I can eat these with no problems; even so, I'd consider them a fairly advanced food. They are expensive, however.n

not to be a pest but they're not an advanced food - they're illegal -so glad

you can go there, but others shouldn't introduce illegals till 1 year symptom

free

i spent 1 month of loose bm each morning -and still haven't gotten back to great

like i was before them -

I had many conversations etc with applegate - their spices come to them done

already so who knows what's going on there and plus the anti-caking stuff for

sure is illegal - I don't recommend them - wanted them to be legal so bad - but

no go :-(

Exactly. You don't know what the other spices are.

Many letters have gone out to Applegate, but their spices cannot

be verified. For anyone new or starting the diet, please be aware that

all Applegate hot dogs are illegal.
