Guest guest
just read something that made me think that 20 months into the diet i'm doing this wrong!!! I heat it and let it cool naturally most times -no ice etc, knowing it takes hours but I do other stuff while it cools and it works for me time wise -but is that ruining it??? if so thank God I take acidophilus pills anyway - but can it do me harm??? eileen 20 months scd
Guest guest
Well, if that’s the wrong method then I have been doing it wrong for 5 years. After the half & half has reached temp., I remove the pot from the heat, cover it with a plate and let it come to room temp (or a little warmer) before I add the starter. Dealing with ice & cooling it down seems like a hassle to me so I skip that part. Logic just dictates that when yogurt making was discovered thousands of years ago those people did not have access to ice (that I know of) and yet here we are, thousands of years later, still makin’ yogurt. No, that's the way you can do it. Lots of people are in a hurry... so use ice or ice water to cool quickly. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
