Guest guest
Thanks Shell! Some day I want to look like you! :-) That rip thing you did looks sooo fun. What island was that on? I am going to Hawaii in Oct and want to try it. I also want to send in some pictures, but have to figure out how to do that still... One thing I just realized, other than the Dr office, this is the only place I have ever felt secure enough to post my weight. Thanks for making this a safe place for us to come to Shell! Guest guest
Shell, Shoot! I am going to Maui. I wonder if they do that there though. I will have to check into it. Thanks for the reply. Your pictures are an inspiration. :-) Doesn't seem so expensive to do considering it is like 20 bucks an hour. I was checking into the helicopter rides and THOSE are expensive. I think we will skip that this time. Have you stayed on Maui before? DO you have a recommendation of a good place to stay? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Kay, Nope never been to Maui, but im sure we will make it soon. We are going back to hawaii next year and also were going to England or Austrlia (SP)? We travel with friends every year and each year one of us gets to pick were we want to go. I think Its my friend s turn, but im trying to talk her into England. We did the helicopter ride,,oh my god talk about beautiful it was amazing, even if half my ass was hanging out and I thought I was going to die! Expensive is an understatement! It was $200. bucks a person! and our other friends loved it and would do it again,me on the other hand want to try jumping out of a plane lol,,am I crazy,,yep. Guest guest
--Hey Kay!! Tamara here. Just came back from Maui in May. Theyu do have the zip lines there, and they are in the most gorgeous tropical forest you have ever seen!! My goal is to go back and do it when I have lost enough weight to feel like the line will hold me!!! Try the Ohana Maui Islander hotel on Dickenson street in Lahaina. It is modest, but clean, has a refrigerator, coffe pot, and cable in every room. Let me know if you need more info....I have lots of brochures from when we were there. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hey Tamara! Thanks for the suggestion! As luck has it, I already booked there yesterday. 91 bucks a night. Can't beat that! SO there aren't full kitchens in the rooms? I wanted to prepare all my own meals... Thanks for telling me about the Zip on Maui. I am hoping by Oct I will have lost enough for the weight limit so I can do it! I am at 260 right now. Did you do one of those snorkeling tours out on the boat to that island? I am trying to decide which one of those to sign up for there are like 5 to chose from. Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it! Guest guest
--hi Kay. What a trip that you had booked at the sam ehotel!! I don't know if they have full kitchens now or not; they were remodeling when we were there this year. WE stayed there last year when we went and then it was only fridge and coffepot and sink. But that was not one of the apartment like ones, just a regular room. Maybe they have upgraded since then. They do have BBQs in the common areas where you can cook your own, and we went down to Safeway and bought groceries and kept them in the room. It saved a TON of money, even thought hings are very expensive over there in the stores. You should be fine for the zip by then. I know that grown full sized adult males have no problem, so you should be fine at that weight, I would think. As for the snorkel tours, we skipped because I got tattooed the first day we were there and you can't get it in the ocean water, so we went deep sea fishing instead. But from everything else I have heard, they are all pretty equal and pretty much either go out to Molokini or Lanai or both islands. SOme of them include meals, some don't. Next time, I am soooo there snorkeling with Nemo!!! If you are planning on going to a Luau, please take my advice and go to the Old Lahaina Luau. It is considerably more than the other Luaus, but it is o worth it. WE tried to go cheaper this year because we took all the kids, and were so disappointed that we actually walked out. But the Old Lahaina Luau is fantabulous. Anyway, I have tons of other info, so if you need any toher stuff, just let me know. Guest guest
Guest guest
Tamara, Yet again I did as you did. I already booked the Old Lahaina luau! lol I have heard it was the best. 85 bucks for me to eat 2-4 oz of food. Good deal huh? lol BUT my husband will make up for it in food and drink! He will be staggering out of there if I have my say about it! Plus he has never been to a luau before so I can't wait to see his reaction! OH! The deep sea fishing is what my husband wants to do. Which charter did you go on? I have to still book that trip! What tattoo did you get and where? I might be able to talk my hubby into one the last day we are there.... I have a couple myself. I was going to wait until I am at goal weight for my next one for some silly reason. But if this tattoo place is any good, I may be inspired to get another one! I guess if worse comes to worse, I can just eat fresh deli meat. I was hoping to cook lots of fish, might have to eat out for that after all. minus the macademia nuts(darn it!) Thanks for the extra info on the hotel. They didn't say much on the site I booked it through. Thanks for the info!
