Hi Ellen,

Congratulations on your fast approaching surgery date! I will say

some prayers and send good thoughts your way. You are smart to try

to focus on the postive outcomes and not to dwell too much on the

actual surgery. When I have any anxiety about the procedure, I try

to immediately switch my thoughts to how nice life will be as a

thinner person. I also try to visualize the site of the incision and

the organs as " knitting " back together and healing quickly. I think

our minds have a great effect on our bodies, and if we go into this

surgery with positive energy, it can only assist in our own healing.

I have asked my friends and loved ones to send prayers and healing

energy my way during my surgery...I have asked them not to " worry "

or " hope that everything goes OK " ...but instead to think of me in a

loving way, and know that their love and positive thoughts will be

felt during my surgery and will assist me in my outcome. Maybe you

could try that, and begin to really focus on the amazing healing

power of your own body, and the great life coming your way!!! I am

sure you will do fine and I will be thinking of you on the 9th!

Jean,

Thanks for the positive imagery. I will try that too. I know I will

be so much better when it is done. I hope everything goes well for

you too. I will keep good thoughts for the both of us.

We will post when we get back, we don't have a laptop to bring with

I believe it takes an enormous amount of inner strength and courage to get

to where you are today, Ellen. I pray that it will carry you through the

next couple of weeks and look forward to hearing from you when you return

home.

Ellen,

You are in our thoughts and we will be swinging chickens for you for

a safe and uneventful surgery

! There's a great bunch of people in the SF area, who may stop in and

see you. Do you have someone going with you ?

*hugs*

Wouldn't the "tummy sideways" mean that the pyloric valve was removed and that this would not be a DS? Or am I missing something?
