Ok, I'm sorry to keep complaining, but I have had a heart burn feeling in my upper stomach for a couple hours or so and I'm wondering what it could be and how I can fix it? I had my surgery almost a week ago and I am on stage 2. I don't think any food could get stuck so I don't know. Any thoughts?Tammy

Tammy,

I think that is what your carafate is for. Are you still taking it?

It's probably that, heartburn. Are you taking Pepcid AC or anything like

that? If you're not, then take some of the over the counter version of

same, and that should fix it. Of course if Richmond is like Fremont, and

recommends that you take Tums after the surgery, then that should have

taken care of the heartburn, and besides I don't know of any foods, in

stage II, that would cause heartburn. Hope it passes soon. LaWanda At

Tammy, eat the most solid thing you are allowed to

eat, and see if that helps. I'm five days out, and

having the same sort of thing, kind of a pain, kind of

a nausea. The applesauce helps for me.

Tammy, are you remembering to take the carafed? That's supposed to coat

your pouch before you eat anything.

Call the office.....

Interesting. I was sent home with two bottles of the stuff and was

told to take it 4 times a day, an hour before each meal and at

bedtime.

The one time I didn't take it I had heartburn and then I took it and

it went away.

So you didn't have any heartburn at all?

Kay, I get a pain and a nausea thing every morning. I

do wish I had been sent home with carafate. it was

very soothing when I took it in the hospital.

Laurie,

You should call the dept and get the Dr to write you a rx for it. Then

you can still take it. There is no need for you to be in discomfort for

THEIR mistake!
