Hi,

I'll be making a trip to Melbourne & Sydney next week & wanted to take the

opportunity to get some supplies as these are not available here in Singapore or

are really really expensive as they are imported. I'm looking for nuts & nut

butters, nut flours, yogurt starters, if possible, raw sauerkraut.

If u know where I can buy them from, please give me an address so that I can go

visit them when i am in town.

Many thanks

Shirin

Hi Shirin,

Try Honest to Goodness on the North Shore in Sydney for nuts and nut flours. You have the choice of organic or non. I've used the almond meal and coconut flour and they are both very good and fine in texture. The nuts are excellent quality. You can buy in bulk and save. You order online or by phone the day before you want to pick up, or else they'll delilver for a small fee I think. url: www.goodness.com.au

Also in Sydney is The Nut Stand tel: 02 9319 4143 (andria near the city). I haven't ordered from them, but details are in the database in the scdoz group (which you might want to actually join so you can go through the lists and see what's close by). Here's the link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scdoz/

I don't have a source for nut butter since I usually make my own. For a yoghurt starter, you can try this website, http://shop.cheeselinks.com.au/Cheese-and-Yoghurt-Starters-Mould-Spores-and-Aroma-Cultures-c9/ though I have never used them. I think it's the Type C starter without Bifidus that is SCD legal, but you would have to double check when you ordered. I think they'll deliver to you, but it looks as though the starters need to be kept in the freezer, so that might not work for you on the flight home.

Teri
