Guest guest
Good luck, Lore! Keep some of those goals in mind, because the first few days after surgery, the discomfort may be greater than you ever expected, and this perspective will help you get through it all. I was not prepared for the amount of " incisional pain " or the way that my stomach spewed acid up my esophagus soon after the stomach awoke from anesthesia (keep your Prevacid or Prilosec handy, and have a bunch of Tums or equivalent within reach). The first two days post-op were brutal for me, and he pain meds did not succeed in covering over the pain. But, by day 3, I was beginning to feel quite human again, and now, 11 days post-op, I am feeling terrific, walking around the block, down 14 pounds, and beginning to eat [small quantities of] all sorts of things.
