Seems more likely to be the culprit than goat yogurt. I had issues with almond butter as well. Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds! Guest guest
After a month with formed BMs, I got D after switching to dairy-free SCD. My doc explained that it was something perfectly normal. Kind of a die-off. Or a detox process, or whatever. I switched to dairy-free on Sept 1st. D lasted for twor or three days. I've been on dairy-free SCD since then. Cheers! > > did anyone get gassy/D when switching from cows to goats? belly is NOT happy today -it's been " lil off " since goat but also had blanched almond butter last couple of days - could be that???? > hate trying new stuff!!!! > eileen 20 months scd >
Guest guest
When I intro in new things my BM's change. If there is no pain and discomfort involved I work through the process. My body is just not used to new foods and it takes time to adjust. Jodi
Guest guest
if I wasn't uncomfy, I'd panic less and full fledge D not just looser BM's like I usualy get from food reaction etc - who knows?? Guest guest
Eileen, You need to try to make it out of organic and perhaps pastures marrow or knuckle bones. I got sick making broth out of my steak bones. Doesn't happen with already cooked chicken bones. Weird huh? Did you put Apple Cider Vinegar in the bone broth? How long did you cook it? Bone broth needs to be cooked quite a while. Glutamate is basically Naturally occurring MSG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glutamic_acid Don't worry about this though. I think it more about your method of making bone broth and the ingredients you chose to use. Try it again in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I try something and feel weird right away- sometimes though I am too thick to " listen " to myself and continue munching just to get a belly ache. If something seems off to you- don't go there (I need to learn this myself LOL) But yeah.. I got really sick using already cooked steak bones. Guest guest
Eileen.. You cracked me up just now. Bison and Beef knuckle bones are massive- bigger than large marrow bones and they are sometimes way cheaper. I buy mine at the Farmer's Market in Union Square in NYC. On Saturday the Bison Farmer from Elk Trails Farms is there (I think that is the name) and I also buy from Grazin' Acres- Black Angus Beef. Both are grass fed, grass finished. Not organically certified but they don't use hormones, antibiotics or steroids. I believe them too. Hawthorne Valley which is super expensive has BioDynamic Beef and some other types of meat at times... I have gotten their marrow bones as well. But I really love the bison bones. How exactly did you cook the broth? How long? What did you put in it? Did you realy bring broth to boil first for a while and then transfer to croc? List this for me one by one Eileen.. Guest guest
Eileen, Maybe check out some farms in your area local to you via eatwild.com? Also, there are good sources online- but can be pricey. Jodi
