Guest guest
http://www.organicvalley.coop/products/milk-and-cream/half-and-half/ultra-pasteurized-32-oz-1/ All The Best, Lou I just noticed that the half and half I was buying (store brand) has some added ingredients. One of them is carageenan (sp?) which is used as a thickener but i'm pretty sure it's a starch! The other ingredients are some sodium chemical and something else which I would think are preservatives. I got a name brand half and half and it has no carageenan in it but it has the other 2 sodium things in it. When I look up the heavy cream (I want to make french cream) Every brand I have found has carageenan in it. What does everyone use for half and half? Or cream when you want to make a thick yogurt out of it? -UC - 1 yearSCD - 3.5 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 4 pills 3 times a day - hopefully scd will help me get off these! I have trouble finding legal cream and half and half sometimes. Borden's, in this area, has been okay, but I generally prefer that from a local dairy. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
Oak Farms (which is in Houston where I live) has half n half, cream, milk, etc. with nothing added. If you have Whole Foods or a mom and pop store (anything besides a chain grocery) you may be able to find it locally. For instance, I can get the milk, half n half and cream at the Texaco station down the street otherwise I have to go to Fiesta grocery stores which carries that brand. Same with AA eggs, they are from a local source but hard to find in chain stores. Debbie 40 cd On Thu, Oct 8, 2009 at 7:58 AM, Wizop Marilyn L. I haven't found a cream without additives yet. Peace =)Alyssa 15 yoUC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds!
