unemployment is for when there is no work at his job or layed off disablity is when he is physicaly unable to do his jiob due to a disablity or surgery or illness and there is a week waiting peroid and a do has to put him off work .. you get 2 thirds of your normal pay before taxes,, it usually last up to a yr depending on earnings but if his job has limited time he can take off without looseing his job mine has a limit of 3 months can loose your positon and be put anywhere else in the job and any shift if they like and at 7 months you no longer have a job now this is a major company TARGET and that sucks in my opinion .. i am off on workmans comp so it does not effect me at this time

Randy goes in for surgery Tuesday. The nature of his business, studio driver, means he has been on hiatus for the past month.... of course now that work is back , he gets his date.... sigh. Anyway, my question is.....we just got unemployment regulated. Because he drives, lots of pulling and tugging of stuff, and climbing up and down off equipment.....should we file for disability? It pays more we think....never did it before. But there is a lag time of a week, and if I get my date right away....and I should.... that lag might make it tough. We are confused about whether we should just stay on unemployment, or go for the disability just in case he is out a little longer than the four weeks due to the exertion of his Job physically. decisions, decisions.... what have you guys done? Many of you are Kaiser employees so maybe someone out there knows about this process more than we do.

Thanks!!
