Yes, it can be. In the first place it can be manipulated when removing the

gall bladder, a part of the DS surgery that often has to be done. Secondly

morbid obesity is hard on the liver sometimes causing it to be in poor

condition. Finally the rapid weight loss from any type of WLS is hard on

the liver, not just the DS. And of course drinking during this period puts

another problem on our poor overworked liver.
