Guest guest
I have bought a can of " pure egg white protein " from GNC, and would love some ideas for frut shlushies or breakfast drinks that I could mix it in to. Anyone have any good ideas? Meli BMI 47 DR Hess June 21,01 Summer Solstice
Guest guest
Joe isn't, but I am and have been since 1987 or so... as a pre-op. We use low fat 1% Lactaid 100 milk because of my lactose intolerance. The 100 means 100% lactase treated milk-- no untreated lactose is remaining in the milk. And, I use Designer protein for my chocolate, chocolate banana, and chocolate cherry shakes, and Designer Strawberry for my berry shakes as well as the Isopure for my cherry shakes. I try to make 'em like Joe does but haven't quite got the hang of it yet. They still taste real good to me, even though the texture of them isn't quite like Joe's. Guest guest
Joy and Joe and everyone: We used to make similar shakes all the time around here. The kids love them. The only difference is that we usually added a container of yogurt to the mix. We had these smoothies, preop, all the time. Before the operation though we didn't add the protein powder, just yogurt, milk, fruit and ice. Now, I can barely get down about 1/8 cup of the smoothie. I have no idea why. I've tried it without the yogurt. I've tried to water it down more. I've tried...everything I can think of. Right now I am using Atkins vanilla protein powder. I can get down about 1/2 can of ensure with extra protein or boost with extra protein, which would be about 4 oz. I am 4-1/2 weeks postop. How soon could you drink these? I would really like to be able to get them down, as they were something I enjoyed preoperatively. Thanks, Dawna
