Guest guest
Dear in Seattle: Thank you for those fine questions, they are essential. However, I was hoping someone with direct experience or knowledge of Dr. might be able to say a few words. Dr states in his web site where and with whom he received his bariatric training. Although, he does not say how many DS procedures he has done I am sure he would tell you, as would any surgeon. He is young and has only been in private practice since 1991. Also on his web site he states that the bariatric procedures he performs are limited to the RNY opened and lap and the DS. He does not do any illegal procedures. if you have some first hand knowledge of this MD I would like to hear it, but if you don't I am wondering why you would make such strong statements regarding his practice. Thank you Sheryle way pre op

Guest guest
I confess that I have very serious doubts about any surgeon who does the MGB/Billroth II on request as I understand Dr G has done. My bias. The DS isn't a procedure a surgeon will learn just by doing a surgical residency. To learn it surgeons generally work with another surgeon first. I think it is appropriate to ask such questions. I think it is wonderful that the DS is increasingly available. But this surgery requires skills beyond that of the RNY. So how a surgeon learned it is important. I see that he learned the original BPD from his mentor. No statement about who mentored him for the DS part. in Seattle ----- Original Message ----- From: red103529@... Dear in Seattle: Thank you for those fine questions, they are essential. Plus Dr. G. is just starting to establish himself, so few knew about him until recently. You might contact Sharon (Wealthynow2) about Dr. G.- she just got home from her surgery & had nothing but good things to say about him. Good Luck & welcome!
