Guest guest
Did most of you only gain weight because of the healing process form the SCD?Do you think her body has still not healed and therefore not putting on weight?Yes. She may not be deriving the full load of nutrition from the food. That is often the case with people with Crohn's. Because thegut is not absorbing the nutrients properly. As well as the fact that physical healing takes tons of energy. Morethan just regular existing. For bleeding around the rectum area, you might try Carlson'svitamin E suppositories - this will help to reduce inflammation and discomfort in the rectal area. They are very soothing - andshe can use a few during the days she experiencesrectal bleeding. Just google them onlineand you'll be able to find them. They're very helpful. Also - epsom salt baths are the best on days when she isbeing symptomatic. They help the body detox and shuckoff achiness. What should we do to help her heal on this SCD?Also - on days when she isbeing symptomatic, add in more bone broths - whether chicken or beefor mixed or turkey, etc. This is fantastic for helping internalorgan healing. She can add a softboiled egg to it, or homemademayonnaise for extra richness. http://www.gapsdiet.com/INTRODUCTION_DIET.htmlMeat and fish stocks provide building blocks for the rapidly growing cells of the gut lining and they have a soothing effect on any areas of inflammation in the gut. That is why they aid digestion and have been known for centuries as healing folk remedies for the digestive tract...There's a lot more about intro broths at the link.Mara
