Guest guest
Hi , You could be hitting your 6 month flare a little early, possible caused by the new food. For me some times if I caught a cold or some kind of bug it would send me into a flare. I know what you mean by the soup. You might want to try a beef soup, it works for me when I cant take the smell of chicken. stay away from peanuts and almonds for a few days and see what happens.....keep up on your food log. All The Best, Lou Been on this diet just under 5 months. I've had my good days and my bad but the bad have only been a few days long and they cleared up without using any meds (besides the Asacol i'm on which is now 3 pills 2 times a day). For the past 3 days i've had increasing amounts of pain in the exact spot I used to get pain from my Ulcerative Colitis. No D and no blood/Mucous. Then my stool started to become soft and now it's D and gas. Not liquid, just alot of gas and soft (small pieces). Hope I didn't go overboard on the details but i'm sure we are all used to it by now.Any reccomendations? I tried going back on intro for a day but I had so much chicken soup when I first started this diet that the smell makes me want to gag... I've cut out the new foods I tried which were pork rinds and peanut butter. I also had some leeks which were in a recipe but I figured they were just the same as onion or scallion... maybe I was wrong.-UC - 1 yearSCD - 3.5 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet.Asacol - 4 pills 3 times a day - hopefully scd will help me get off these! Maybe with some nice flanken. And speaking of fish, you could make a fish broth/soup as well. Think about LDN - that's the kind of thing - the gut pain - LDN might help with. Itcertainly helped me with that. Peanut butter can do that - and once you get the pain - it could take a whileto cycle through it. I've cut out the new foods I tried which were pork rinds and peanut butter. I also had some leeks which were in a recipe but I figured they were just the same as onion or scallion... maybe I was wrong.I think it is more likely to be the PB or the pork rinds, personally, if you have notrouble with greens and onion. But you never know. Mara
Guest guest
- adding peanut butter too soon can cause problems. Don't know about pork rinds- I never ate one! But they don't sound too healthy. Maybe delaying these will help. Hope you feel better, PJ > > > Been on this diet just under 5 months. Guest guest
Try the pork rinds they're really good! Especially for cooking with. You can make some pretty good "rice crispie treats" with them. Or I add them to meatloaf instead of bread crumbs. They may be an "aquired taste" for some people but they are crunchy and salty just like potatoe chips. Yum... I've cut them out for now but i'll keep on trying to introduce them and hopefully i'll be able to tolerate them at some point. I keep hearing that for most they are tolerated relatively early on in the diet. Guest guest
I don't eat pork, but they sound like a good alternative to chips. Keep a food journal- everyone is different. I keep trying to add cheese- but it gets me every time- so far, but I'm fine with nut butters. PJ > > > > > > Been on this diet just under 5 months. No arguments that they are nice and crunchy (and have the advantage of being something I don't have to make myself!) but I have found that I can't eat them on a daily basis without issues cropping up, even if they are legal. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
Hello : I agree with the others on the PB. I ate some about a months ago and am still feeling the effects of it. Pork rinds are pretty advanced too, though I tolerated them early on. I'm still not normal yet. I have been eating a pretty basic diet these last few weeks to try to get over it. The food journal will help tremendously. Guest guest
Pork rinds have always been one of my fave salty things to eat. I think it's cause I grew up here in the South where pork rinds and cracklins are very common. They make great nachos too. I cook ground been in " taco seasoning " and add diced onion, shredded cheese, and jalepenos. With some dripped yogurt for sour cream...MMMM. I haven't tried any of the sweet treats with it, but am planning on it in a couple months. Misty Kimble CD - no meds SCD - 21 months > > > Try the pork rinds they're really good!
