In order to adapt any recipes from any book, newspaper or Internet source you must be quite familiar with SCD. SCD is a unique stand alone diet. It does allow you to respect your own religious restrictions or true food allergies " Nourishing Traditions " is based on Sally Fallon's Weston-Price use of protocols of early primitive diets. Fallon advocates only grass fed beef . SCD does not have this restriction. She also sets limits on consumption of red meat and has other rules that don't apply to SCD. It is requested in our FAQs that we do not combine or confuse SCD with other diets such as the aforementioned and " The maker's Diet, " just to give two examples. These diets may be suitable and desirable for those without autism and gastric diseases but the science advocated by Dr, Haas and Elaine Gottschall are focused on these problems with the intent of healing them. In SCD Cooking classes, my associates and I adapt recipes from everywhere and it can be a challenge to make sure every ingredient is legal. We have all been on SCD for a minimum of four years. There are a number of SCD cookbooks now and over 500 SCD compliant recipes on the Internet. Carol F. Celiac, SCD 6 years

Guest guest
Dori, I have not seen recipes for nut based pasta. But I am sure that there are at least a few recipes in the NT cookbook that can be used with SCD. There are recipes in most of the cookbooks that I've looked through. Recipes that involve vegetables, meats, fruits, eggs and nuts will be fine. Recipes involving pasta, flour, sugar, etc. will not be okay. Some recipes can be adapted, but others are very difficult to adapt. If there is something in particular, you can post and ask about it.
