I had a good experience at Mt Sinai but I did hire a companion because I had never been in surgery before and didn't want to have my friends therer 24/7. My family is not here and even though my friends were there for me I just felt I would be better taken care of with a companion. The nurses don't have time to shower and clean you all day and I just felt more secure. Truly the nurses were great when I needed them but no nurse comes running and a companion is right there. My experiewnce with Dr. Herron and his nurse Diane was and still is wonderful. I hope that the negatives about Dr. Gagner and his nurse don't reflect on the rest of the team.
