Hi Pam

I totally understand the excited and scared at the same time. I hear nothing but praise about dr baggs and that he is very handsome.................... congrats on the ten pound loss ! sounds like things are really rolling for you and your right , i dont think any other program educates patients on this surgery more than Kaiser.

Hi Everyone,I went to my Nutrition class and saw the psychologist today.Dr. was nice and answered a lot of my questions about the emotional side of losing weight. She also explained the next steps. I am impressed how everyone is taking care that you are ready, and are supported along the way. The nutrition class answered some of my questions about postop eating. Someone asked why we weren't supposed to have protein shakes. She said that it was because the liquid doesn't stay in your pouch long enough, which causes you to be hungry sooner. I have an appointment with my surgeon, Dr. Baggs,on July 5. How is he compared to the other doctors?I am happy that I've lost 10 pounds and have 20 more to go. I am excited and scared at the same time.Pam (Pammagail)

Hi Pammagail, how are you? I read your post and

feeling excited and scared is part of the process.

All healthy. Dr. Baggs...well now...let me just

say...there is no comparison...

Well, I can't compare him to anyone really as I never

had encounters with Dr. Fisher and Dr. Park was my

primary surgeon while Dr. Baggs assisted. They really

are all great Surgeons. I have not heard anything

negative about either of them. All I can tell you is

that he is so sweet. He is caring and he LISTENS.

You are in great hands with Dr. Baggs so you can rest

on that part of the deal. The staff at Richmond are

great to. They have your best interest at hand and

are going to do everything in the power to see to it

that you are a success with the surgery.

I am so proud of your 10 pound loss. Hang in there

and the rest will come off and you will be posting

about your surgery date.

Take care.

Hi Pammagail,

Dr. Baggs is really very nice and if he sees that you are seriously

trying to lose weight he'll be pleased. He, and everyone else in

Richmond will not even discuss a date until you're at goal and then it

seems to go very quickly if that's what you want. I made goal many

months ago but couldn't take time off until July so I've had to

maintain my loss and I try to remain under goal.

Best,

Maggie

Way to go Pammy #2. Congrats on the weight loss. One of the docs once

told me that they want you to get your protien from a non synthetic

way. Ummmm what is Whey, people? Oh well. I haven't been doing

protein drinks for some time and I am doing ok.

Dr. Baggs is great and cute. :) But don't step on Pam #1's toes. She

has her claws, I mean fingers, wrapped so tightly wound up in him.

He assisted on both Pam #1 and my surgery. He is a doll. He has also

done most of my post op classes. He is a tough cookie but easy on

theyes so it makes you want to please him and he only is tough for your

own good.
