Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. These have been very helpful. Sorry I should have mentioned that I take SCD Legal GI Prohealth Scdophilus 3+. However the S Boulardi I take is by Nutricology from Vitamin Shoppe. It looks legal.I also ordered the SCD Multivitamin from Digestive Wellness.

Thanks Again everyone and Stay Healthy.

Hi .If you like dairy products/drinks and you suspect that the yoghurt isthe culprit, then why not just create kefir instead ?It is simple and we have seen yoghurt-issues resolved almost immediatelyat our house.J

Hi Val!

Yes I think every milk has a whey its the additional watery filled protein part of any milk/yogurt product and for some reason is more concentrated with the lactose ....lol I know there is not left that is why we ferment the yogurt so long but it has something in it that I can not tolerate as do many many of the other scd's ...soooo we drip the yogurt and it becomes thicker without the whey and then I can eat it and not have to run to the bathroom!!! It becomes more like Greek yogurt and the thinner the consistency is the more whey comes out for some reason.

You could make a half amount and try it ..also full fat heavy cream has the least amount of lactose in it have you tried that to make the yogurt with? I also drip that as well.

Thanks

It is simple and we have seen yoghurt-issues resolved almost immediately

at our house.

Kefir is considered quite advanced on SCD because of the multiplicity of

bacteria and yeasts in it. Definitely not recommended for a person who is

new to SCD.

What is Whey? Do you know if it

applies to goats milk yogurt?

What most people call yogurt " whey " -- and in fact, I called it

that myself -- is not, according to Elaine, actually " whey. " It

is " water of hydrolysis, " which results as the good bacterial

culture breaks the lactose down into glucose and galactose.

The galactose is the portion that, in many cases, is the culprit in

having issues with the SCD yogurt. BY dripping the yogurt, we remove most

of the galactose, and make it easier to digest.
