According to ‘Hortus Third, A Concise Dictionary of Plants’

Rumex is called Sorrel or Dock. Rumex are in the Polygonaceae family. More

than 100 species of perennial herbs. Some are grown for greens and one as a

source of tannin.

I have no idea if it is SCD ok.

Yana--I only know Rumex acetosa, common sorrel. It is used in salads similar to French sorrel, Rumex scutatus. They are greens that I have had in the past and I only know that like spinach, they are high in oxalic acid which can precipitate a gout attack or cause kidney stones. Since it is like spinach, I don't see why you couldn't eat it.
