Guest guest
Caroline, without knowing why Dr A turned you down cold, anger should not be your primary concern right now. You need to focus on WHY the turn down and get it in writing. I hope and pray the decline is not because of something in your anatomy. "Angie called from Dr. Anthone's office and said the doctor has turned me down. He offered to take down the failed vbg and repair my abdominal hernias but no revision and no switch." From your own statement leads me to think you had better find out why!!!!!!!! It does not appear that Dr A is refusing to treat you as a patient. I am not saying to NOT get a second opinion. But certainly find out what the first opinion is. Not just the NO! Call Dr A and leave a message asking him to return your call. Dr A does other revisions, so before you run to Dr Maguire or Dr Hess (who will want to know why Dr A refuses to do this surgery for you) get on the phone and call. If no one will return your call, request your medical records from that office, including doctors note, H & P and all tests. You will have to pay for these records but they may be the only way to get the answers you are asking for. Did your primary care physician refer you to Dr A? If so, as a referring doc he/she will receive all the records as a matter of course. We have seen other patients on this list that was not able to be revised to the DS but had to go the route of a RNY as the band had grown into the stomach. Let us know how it turns out.
