Maybe you're just ready to quit, sure hope so! Quitting smoking was one of

the hardest things I ever did, best of luck. LaWanda At 08:41 AM 7/10/05,

I'm not Shell, but I can tell you that Wellbutrin (spelling) helped me a

lot. Back in '99, when I quit, Kaiser was giving it and there was a class

you could take with it. I never took the class, but I quit anyway. Good

luck to you when you decide to quit. LaWanda At 11:24 AM 7/10/05, you wrote:

He should use Wellbutrin or Ziban--not sure if I'm spelling either of them

right. I had smoked for 33 years, and I quit using that drug. They are

the same, one is generic and one is the brand name. Good luck to

him. LaWanda At 09:19 AM 7/10/05, you wrote:

Me sticking my snout in again...Just an FYI--Wellbutrin and Zyban can

be very dangerous mixed with other drugs, including SSRI's (Paxil,

Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa). I had considered trying Zyban, but can't

because I am on Zoloft & Xanax for my anxiety/panic disorder. If

there are no drug interactions to worry about, I've heard that

Wellbutrin/Zyban can be very effective.

pascha :)

Well if you're bipolar, as is my sister, then you can't take it either. As

you say, it works well for anyone who isn't taking any drugs with which it

is contraindicated. Thanks for the info about the other psychotropic drugs

having an adverse effect with it, didn't know that. Fortunately wasn't

taking any of those when I took the stop smoking meds. LaWanda At 09:01
