hi Kim!

Have you discovered the Lee site? She does patterns for diapers

(we call them nappies), wraps, baby feeding pillows and the 'Better baby

Sling' plus loads of breastfeeding clothes - really interesting stuff:

http://www.elizabethlee.com/index.htm

Lots of us use cloth (well I intend to - i used Weenees last time), and

there are quite a few homebirthers too (including me). have a look at:

www.homebirth.org.uk

Although it is a British site (like this group) it is a fantastic resource

for Homebirthers. My H/B story is on there (complete with 'attractive'

photo)

Hi Shanndah, Welcome to the list. I'm jim.

They usually run test to rule out other diseases, check liver,

kidney, thyroid, function, and check hormone levels, etc.

Ever time I go the the doctor they seem to think of 3 or 4 new

things to check for.

I'm with you on kicking this thing one way or another.

I've learned a lot from this list and on the web.

2 things that really help me are stress reduction, nothing upsets

me anymore; and exercise, a little makes me better and a lot

causes pain for the next two days.

I'm trying one thing at a time until I can evaluate it.

Currently trying glucosamine for my arthritis.

It is a slow process but I won't give up.

We all have the pain and the frustration, so, we do understand.

This is a great group of people here so feel free to vent and to

ask questions.

Shanndah,

Good for you for maintaining such a positive attitude. Believe me,

you'll need it. Welcome to the group. If you look back over the posts

from the past few days, you'll find they are full of definitions on

the difference between CFS and Fibro. It's very hard to reach a

consensus. I've read they are considered ywo sides of the same coin,

one with fatigue more prevalent, the other with the pain more

prevalent. I've also read, or been told, that they're auto-immune,

brought on by sickness, or injury, probably a genetic tendency,

symptoms of neuro-toxins, etc. etc. In short, no one can really agree

what causes these diseases, and whether or not they really are two

seperate ones. Personally, I feel Fibro at least is an auto-immune

disease. But that's just my opinion. I hope this helps you. Good

luck, and take care.

.... i'm trying desperately to stay away from any/all medication possible

because i'm so young and know that if i start playing with the medication at

this age then by the time i'm momma's age there will be nothing left for me

to try.. best to manage as i can while i'm young.

At your age, I suspect that they will either have found a cure or at the very

least, some medication that will help before you reach your mamas age.

Anyhow, welcome to our list. It is a good list but I am sorry that someone

so young should need to be here. That goes for all of the young ones we have

and we have quite a few.

This is a warm loving, caring and supportive group. If you need an answer to

a question, ask, someone will have the answer or will find it out. If you

feel like venting, vent. We all have at one time or another. Especially

when a flare hits, work is to painful; a long list of things that we have to

vent about every now and again.,

Take care,

Deb A.,

Haha, thats a GOOD question. It is just southwest of the Lake of the

Ozarks. Population, probably about 10, if I had to guess. Do you know where

Springfield, MO. is? We are about 1 hour north.

I am 33. I guess I should clarify. I am a grandmom by my oldest step

daughter. Of course she started really young. SHe had him at 15. She has a 4

mo. old and another one on the way. (Which I think we will be getting) I don't

think I should really be a grandmom yet. But what can you do. She doesn't live

with us anymore, so I can't control her.

Well, enough about me.

Welcome Sue-Ellen,

I'm , 45, married for 26 yrs. to my high school sweetheart who has Parkinson's Disease & possible early on-set Alzheimer's . We have 4 children...2 girls 24 & 22 1/2, 2 boys 20 & almost 18. We have 3 grandsons, with another due in October & just found out that our oldest daughter is expecting late March/early April! (We are praying hard for a girl this time!!! Please keep your fingers crossed) LOL Grandchildren are the greatest!!!!!!

I've been diagnosed w/lupus & fibro for about 2 1/2 - 3 yrs now, but have suspected it for much longer. Like you, my first clue was the red face. Looked like I had either been in the sun or out in the cold to long, but it never went away. Now, my hubby says he can tell when I get up in the mornings what kind of day I'm going to have by the degree of redness on my cheeks! I also have multiple back problems, but I've had that for most of my life.

We live in east TN, also in a rural area. We have 4 dogs, 1 hamster, 2 turtles, 1 frog, 3 lizards, 1 bunny, 6 bantam chickens & about 60 birds (finches, parakeets, cockatiels , lories, mini macaws, & misc. other parrots) I guess you could say we really are bird brains, huh!

I don't have much online time right now, so I don't post as often as I'd like, but there are many knowledgeable people on here who are always ready & willing to answer questions or just listen.

-- Intro

My name is Sue-Ellen.

I am 40 years old. I live in rural ok with my husband of 19 years and our 18 year old son. We also have 1 dog, 4 cats, 5 guinea fowl, 8 goats and about 100 chickens. Until one year ago I had always lived in a big city and am very much enjoying living in the country.

I have been sick since May 2001 with fibromyalgia. Yesterday I saw a doctor for the first time since moving here. I went because I needed a prescription to refill my blood pressure meds. The doctor told me he suspects I have Lupus. I have actually wondered this myself before and have tried to study it but never mentioned that to him before he mentioned it. I am trying how to figure out how to be tested. Both financially and because I would have to drive about 2 hours to get to a rheumatologist.

Even though I do not know for sure that I have Lupus, I thought joining this group would be helpful for me to learn more about it.

Probably the biggest suspicion I have about the Lupus is my very red face that looks like all the butterfly rash pictures I have seen online.
