I just gotta vent, so skip this if you don't want to hear me complaining about DOCTORS!!!!!

I've been working on getting my clearences since Nov. Because of a busy sleep lab, sickness and death of sleep specialist doctor, busy dr. replacing him and pulomnologist(sp), I think I am going to go crazy.

I had my visit to get the results with the Pul. dr. last week. He told me my lungs were in great shape, but I did have sleep apnea and had to use a cpap. Said he would send the clearence to my DS dr. right away. I was so happy, this was finally going to happen.

DS dr. office called, the letter they got says I am a high risk for surgery, must use the cpap, lung in good shape and that I know and accept the risks. (this is what they said he said) He doesn't say anything about whether he would clear me for the surgery. They want me to get the Pul. dr. to write something better. I talked to his office then to him. He doesn't understand what is confusing. He tried to call the DS dr. but he isn't in his office until Tues. The DS dr. office couldn't say if he would call, he's very busy!!!

I started crying on the phone, asking if the dr. couldn't call then someone from the office call and try to straighten this out.

When I hung up I cried for 15 minutes then went to bed, I felt so sick.

Now I have to wait for these two dr.s to understand each other.

I don't know what I'll do If they can't have a meeting of minds.

Hi Rita:

Don't worry about it. Except for those of us who

have exceptional DS surgeons, I doubt that there

are many doctor lovers on the list.

You say you had your first consult on 10/17/2000,

and you still don't know whether the surgeon will

agree to do the job or not?

That's outrageous!

Who is Dr. Macura? I've never heard of him/her.

Perhaps you should explore other avenues, if any

are available to you.

Understanding your anger/frustration,

Tom L.

Hi Tom. In reading your signature, I see that you had

a Panniculectomy prior to your WLS. I'm under the

understanding that this is a " tummy tuck " . Am I

wrong? Can I ask why they did this first in your

case? I hope you don't mind my asking, but I'm trying

to learn all I can. This site has been so helpful!

Thanks.
