I'm just doing LDN - no supplements at the moment - though when winter comes I may start up the vit. D3s again because of lack of sunshine. 40 a day seems way too many to me. How do you think your yeast treatment is doing? Is it helping you? Mara

That's more effective for me at the moment than taking probiotics ever seemed to be. I never had a clue if they were helping or not - didn't feel a measurable effect. But I know definitely that when I started yogurt back up after being dairy free that it made a big difference. I tried S. boulardi for a while but never knew whether it helped or not. Guest guest
That's great Mara.. I feel immediately different with probiotic supplements. I wonder if they implant differently in all of us? Pretty fascinating always learning how we are all so alike and yet so different. Jodi

Guest guest
Hi Tom, I take a Freeda B Complex vitamin everyday. The last time my blood levels were checked (March, I think), they were good. I did have my ileum shut down once a few years ago though. I wasn't taking any vitamins back then (that I can remember anyway). Guest guest
So do you think you're going to have another stricture at the site of the surgery? That's what scares me. I'd hate to have surgery just to have another stricture form in the same spot. I normally try to chew my food good (although it's usually not necessary since I eat so much soft food). But I think I may have scarfed down those cherries and didn't chew them up as good as I usually do. I guess I got complacent since I had seemed to be doing so well. Guest guest
Hi Holly.. It's too early to tell with me- The incision scar formed Keloids which is an indication as to how I am healing on the inside. There are different procedures for intestinal scarring today not necessarily a resection. But yes, this happens over the years. For some it takes quite a while for scar tissue to form. Not all people with scar tissue get bothered- that's another thing.. they are completely ok. You should ask the consult about this. Also if you think you have weak abdominal muscles (I'm like flabby as I haven't really worked out in years- a major goal of mine.. I try a bit here and there post surgery- YAY but it makes the incisional hernia worse) Ask about what they do to avoid incisional hernia. I wish I knew about this and made a stink. Despite flabbyness I always had a flat belly. Now I have a bulge that is my personal cup holder. I hate it! I hope you don't need surgery but if you do ask if you are a candidate to have it done laparscopically. I eat a lot of mush too. I try to chew but I am not really mindful. That's why I run a bunch of stuff through the Omega and strain. Perhaps it is a force of habit. Keep us posted. Jodi

Guest guest
Hi Jodi, That really sucks about the scarring :-(. I'll be sure to ask my surgeon about incisional hernia and laproscopy. I think I need to write out a list of things to ask, so I don't forget! I have a fat flabby tummy. If I need surgery, maybe I better try harder to get it in better shape! Guest guest
Holly, You like want to be at your " healthiest " when you have surgery. Oxymoron I know.. but still. Best not to be on Prednisone too but sometimes you can't avoid it (I was on Prednisone as I had a whopping obstruction something like 2 weeks before surgery) Not sure about the efficacy of working out for that- I mean working out in general is really good. Some gentle Yoga even. Before pre surgery gentle Yoga made me really sick- now I can do a couple of things and feel good. Ask your doc about what kind of excersizes would be good for you- and how long you would need to do it for it to really count? Not sure if they will answer this if they want you in the OR. They basically sold the rainbow to me to get me in the OR. Jodi
