Guest guest
Hi, I am new here. My husband was dx'd with colitis. He did a cleanse about 2 months ago, and hasn't been the same since. We have since found that most of the herbs in the cleanse are illegals on the diet. We are looking at this as a challenge and a need to change our dietary habits. We ate healthy, but way too many carbs. I am so thankful for this forum. The dr. he went to has never heard of this diet. Too bad. I hope to bring him a good report in the future. Fortunately, we have a friend whose wife has been on it for 10 yrs. and at her last colonoscopy (she had Crohn's), the dr. said she was misdiagnosed because there were no scars. He couldn't believe she ever had CD. So, we are looking forward to my husband getting better and being able to carry on with his life. I don't know Marilyn, but my prayers are with her. What a blessing that she is able to spend this time with her mom. My question is where do I buy the nut flours, and if your local store does not carry DCCC, is there any other way to get it? Would the Friendly dairy ship it, can you make it? My husband is on the second day of the intro diet, and felling better already. He is on meds, though (Asacol and prednisone). How does one go about getting off them? Maybe it's too soon to ask. Blessings to all,

Would the Friendly dairy ship it, can you make it? All prayers are gratefully accepted. I've bought almond flour from Honeyville, and from Lucy's kitchen shop. Lucy's is finer -- I tend to save that for cakes and things, and use the Honeyville for breads and other things. I also love the pecan meal from Sunnyland Farms. If you check our library, you'll find a copy of the label from the Friendship Dairy product which is DCCC. You can print this out and take it to your store to order. If you can't find it, make lots of yogurt, drip it really well, and use it instead of DCCC. I couldn't find DCCC the first four years I was on the diet, so I got really good at yogurt making. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
