Did you check in monthly because that might be what

they are referring to. I am not sure or for certain.

My apt. was like clock work. When I was going through

when you got within 5 pounds of your 10% you could

call and that is what I did. My entire process from

start to finish was 3 and a half months (from referral

apts. - late Oct. 2004 to surgery Feb. 8th 2005). So

much has changed since I went through the process and

they are constantly changing things it seem.

I really could not tell you hon but I really hope that

things work out real soon for you. Just go ahead and

get scheduled in the class. While you await your apt.

for the class, continue to do whatever you can to

continue losing weight. I wish you luck hon.

Take care and keep your head up. Its going to

happen..okay.

Lucia,

I would also make an appointment with a case manager and go down and talk to them. Tell you why you did it the way that you did it. The class is helpful I am sure. And perhaps it will serve you well, and prepare you better for life after surgery. But, by the same time, it sounds like you made an honest mistake. I don't know how long you were "out of touch" with them...I can't remember you saying that. But, if you feel that tey are imposing a different and new standard upon you, I would go and talk with them, and see if you can find some middle ground where you can have a meeting of the minds.

Good luck,

What-a-bummer!!! I would be more than just a little

P****d. If you are so inclined, you may want to

mention to the bariatric staff what you had previously

been instructed to do and see if they might waive the

next class. (Just a thought)

That's because Pam Marsh is an angel on this earth...and there aren't very many of them out there. Most of us get pissed...but sometimes it is nice to know that someone is pissed on your behalf, so don't beat yourself up.

But yes...on a daily basis I think, "I wish I were more like Pam". She has such an amazingly sweet, generous and kind spirit. I really have never met anyone else like her.

You are an angel, sweet Pam.

That darn *@#!!!! Richmond! (Sorry to those of you who like their

program, but I have a personal grudge against them, and I don't like

them, either! That's an old story, though.)

I've heard of them in very negative terms that I won't mention here,

and I'm so very thankful that I got approved for WLS early enough to

be sent to San Diego.

I don't mean to be discouraging, Luci, There is still hope for you,

I'm sure. I'm sure if you just communicate with them and try to talk

it out with them and find out why the delay and explain your

situation, it just might help.

I hope it all works out for you. Do not give up. Keep plugging and

you will get your surgery, and become the healthier person that you

deserve.

-Hi Lucia,

I was within 5 lbs of my goal a week ago, and when I called Richmond

they said I had to be at my goal and then make an appointment for a

weight check. You're supposed to do this I guess at least once a month.

Soooo... I made an appointment for August 10th right before a class I

have to take called " Bariatric Lifestyle " . I had seen Dr. Baggs July

5th, and he told me to make that appointment. Has anyone else from

Richmond gone to this class and can tell me what it is all about?

I try. I found that when I was going through my

process that I could not afford to be anything other

than optimistic. It is how I got through and a lot of

talking to Robynn. I found that if I got upset or

negative, it only got my mind off of my objective

which was to lose my 10% so I could have that surgery.

Everyone here was so sweet and supportive and that is

what got me to where I am today. I know you will get

there. So chin up, head up and get ready to rock and

roll honey.

Robynn, thank you. Lord knows I am trying. I look at

people like yourself, and so many others and I

have not went through anything near as much as you all

have...I mean in life or with this weight loss thing.

I look at my situation with my children for God knows

that inspite of their situation (Autistic) they are

truly a blessing. Things could be so much worse off

but it isn't. I realize that no matter what adversity

I go through, I am going through it and not alone and

that tomorrow will be a better day...a brighter day.

I can't afford for it to be any other way. I believe

that you get back what you give out there and you guys

have just been great and I am just so blessed to be

part of this group. I no that when man says no, God

has the final say so. I have learned to appreciate

the little things that we so often take for granted

and that my friend is what keeps me. I am enjoying

life, loving life and especially being happy with who

I am...finally. I know it is not over rather it has

just begun. I am so pleased that I am sharing this

journey with you and that you are part of my dream

that is becoming a reality.

Thank you Robynn, Pam, , Colleen and anyone else

that I did not call individually by name (far too

many) for your generosity, love, support, committement

and encouragement. I will never forget you guys and

hope that I can be here and do what you have done for

me. THANK YOU!!
