Wow, that's odd. I've ordered many pounds of almond flour from Honeyville

and have never had that experience. It's quite fine, and makes excellent

muffins, pies, cakes and soda bread. No pieces or chunks, and if you

didn't know what it was, I would defy anyone to identity it as finely

ground almonds.

I have ordered dozens of bags of almond flour from Honeyville and have never

had any complaints. They always arrive in perfect condition and the flour itself

is incredible. Like n said, it's impossible to tell that my baked goods

aren't

made from regular flour. I decided to buy from Honeyville because Elana from

Elana's Pantry recommends it. I trust her judgement since she uses it in all

her recipes (which always turn out fantastic). I am very surprised to hear about

your negative experience.

that their customer service is VERY good. My first box came with a hole in the

inner bag and lots of it had leaked out and was damp and yucky. They told me to

toss it and sent another box right away. I was hoping that the second box would

be finer flour, but it's still like cornmeal. It tastes good, but there are

definitely big enough chunks to be able to get my teeth on them when I make

something.

Nut " . I had to look at the mailing label to be sure it said Honeyville, which

it did. Obviously, Honeyville buys their nuts from Hughson. So I'm a little

confused why people think that Honeyville quality is better than Hughson.

I don't have complaints about their customer service, for sure. I'm sure it was

just an accident that the bag got a hole in it and they were very nice about

replacing it right away. But I did get two boxes in a row that are definitely

as coarse as cornmeal. My baked goods come out the same texture as cornbread.

The taste is good, so it's okay. (And I did discover that the crunchiness

softens some in the leftovers the next day.) I might try sifting some to see if

I can get a finer flour for a different texture.

My main question (which was actually fairly rhetorical) was why do people think

that Honeyville is better than Hughson, when they are actually the same? Does

Honeyville always sell Hughson nuts?
