Hi -

I'm pre-op - had my consult with Dr. K on 4/17, my surgery is 6/19.

He is fairly young - mid-30's I would say. He is caring, respectful, patient. My husband accompanied me and Dr. K answered our questions. He made us both feel that we were the only people on his agenda. He spent about two hours with us. I feel completely confident and comfortable with him.

Dee Tinkle is both a former DS patient of his and his nurse-educator. She too is warm, patient, caring and funny. She spent over an hour with me and my husband going over the procedure, what to expect pre and post op, what the risks were, etc.

The hospital is right next to his office. We requested and were given a tour by another DS post-op. The hospital is small but modern and well equipped.

Dr. K insists on a private room and and a private duty nurse for the first 24 hours. We met a brand new (3-day) post-op and she and her husband and her mother had nothing but good things to say about the hospital, the care, and Dr. K.

I have only one minor criticism - Dr. K has no on-staff nutritionist.

Although he and Dee were quite helpful in that regard, I have a feeling based on reading the many posts on the various sites, that post-op the nutritionist becomes a very valuable resource.

All in all, I really feel comfortable with my decision to have Dr. Keshishian do my surgery.

Good luck with your research.

Jacqui
