Sue:

I also have United Healthcare. I have the PPO Options. You may have the HMO. In any case, every UHC policy is written differently and some pay and others don't depending on the exclusions in the contract and what type of policy it is. I know of others who had PPO Options who were also turned down. My wife and I were both approved within days.

If you have no further appeals you may be out of luck. I don't have any paperwork from them at all. They just paid for our surgeries and never hesitated. Consequently I never asked for anything. You are welcome to use my name and ask them to call me. I can give them my policy number and whatever else they need so they can look up my paperwork in their own files. If you want to do that e-mail me privately and I'll give you my phone number.

If I were you I'd contact Walter Lindstrom, an attorney in California who exclusively deals with insurance denials for weight loss surgery. As I said it may be too late for you if you have exhausted all your appeals but it would be worth a call. His web site is www.obesitylaw.com.

Hope that helps.

Regards.

I have been to that site . Thank you though. I am

trying to go see Dr. Hess in Ohio but am waiting to

hear from my insurance. I have written one appeal

letter already. If I get denied again I am probably

going to go to Spain to see Dr. Baltasar. Thanks for

your help.

Hello I am new to this group I would like to get information on Dr. Baltasar in Spain, does he have a website, email or telephone number anyone could give me? I would really appreciate it. This is just for back up in case my ins. gives me trouble and denies me for the surgery. I am so glad that there is a support system like this! Hope to hear back from someone soon........a Re: Re: new to list, doctors in PA?? I have been to that site . Thank you though.
