Guest guest
I'm wondering why coconut is advanced. On here, it seems like most people have had an easier time with coconut that with nuts. Also, I've read multiple articles about people with chronic D being helped by coconut macaroons. I also know someone who says it works for her. Also, one of these articles mentioned someone with Crohns alleviating some symptoms ( I think D ) by eating coconut macaroons. And all the articles say that the magic ingredients is coconut. Have any of you heard this/ have any thoughts? Guest guest
IME - though not, perhaps, in the experience of everyone,I think that fibrous foods are more problematic forCrohn's people than UC people.OTOH, it is also naturally anti-inflammatory, whichis helpful for UC people.Ohhkay. I think I may try to intro coconut flour soon, and this makes me feel more optimistic about it. Thanks =)Similarly, Alyssa, the vitamin E Carlson suppositories mightbe helpful for you.Just google vitamine E carlson suppository if you think youmight be interested in that.Cool. Sometimes " stages " don't work for everyone. This is one of the things which Elaine stressed, over and over and over. The hardest part of SCD is finding out what you, personally, tolerate. Stages can be a guide... but they are not an absolute. This is why you won't find a chart in BTVC saying, " In the first week, eat... " and " Then in the second week, eat... " I remember when I posted my recipe for beef, broccoli and cheese pie, Lots of people said, " Oooh, that sounds great, but I can't touch broccoli. Well, I did fine with broccoli but couldn't manage the carrots all the anti-broccoli crowd were scarfing down. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
