I had a horrible experience today and totally needed to vent to you guys. I wore a really cute little camisole type top to work today. It even passed hubby's guidelines and you know HE has been freaking out over my antics and outfits. Anyways, I got to work and could feel the disapproval so I asked a co worker, who is some one I would consider a friend. And they all kinda ganged up on me. Said it was totally inappropriate and showed too much skin. It was low but its the spandex type material so it didnt pooch and show anything. Its kinda like the one I had on in one of my photos on the site. I was humiliated. I cried. I even had my daughter bring me a new shirt. I felt like everyone had been talking behind my back etc. I thought I looked cute and summery. But now I feel like a fool. Thank you Uncle Timmy for talking me thru it...it helped so much!! I tell you one thing I am learning on this journey is I am not response for other peoples emotions especially when I know I have not done anything wrong or to them to make them feel the way they are feeling. You are beautiful and you should never hide that from the world to see. You no longer have to deny yourself and to receive less than because someone else is at issue with you for no reason at all. Girl, you are strong, beautiful, sexy, loving, kind and a WOMAN and more importantly WORTHY AND WORTH IT. I had to learn this and I learned it really late in life (well not too late I guess) that we as women don't spend nearly enough time complimenting one another but we find it oh so easy to put each other down and it boils down to insecurity. So, I make it my business to tell my sistahs (women of all cultures, nationalities, ethnic groups, etc.) that they look great, etc. So , don't ever let anyone else steal your thunder or joy honey. You have earned the right to be comfortable in your skin. Keep your head up and know that you are a beautiful woman. Big hug to you. Dealing with our own vanity (not being vain but real vanity-the good kind) is something we don't know how to do yet. I am just so sorry you were hurt by something so silly. I am sure you were fine. Check your dress code at work and make sure all is good then confront them if there is nothing in the dress code regarding what you were wearing. Be stong.
