Hi Jill,

My understanding was that we just had to take some

form of calcium, not necessarily tums. I have the

chewable calcium and I also got the Maalox tablets

which are also calcium citrate. I HATE Tums so I'm

hoping either one of these will do.

hugs,

Barbi

I take Tums. They are a flavored candy like variety and I love them. I asked my PCP if I should be taking Calcium Citrate since it is better absorbed. He said that if I needed more I could just take one more pill. It may be that the 5 Tums (3 am, 2 pm) are more than I would have to take of the calcium citrate but I like them. I just had my blood work done and my calcium is exactly in the middle of the recommended range. So I have no intention of changing. In my mind it's a matter of what you like and what works for you.

Regards.
