Guest guest
I am curious if any of you post-ops have experienced the hair loss Dr. Ren told me might occur, how much of a loss and how long did it take to stop? Also curious how the scars from the lap incisions are down the road . . . Thanks for your input Debbie
Guest guest
I too lose a lot of hair every time I go under anesthetic. I started losing hair after my endo. My hair dresser told me about Nioxin, she said her dh was going prematurely bald and they bought a liter of the shampoo and conditioner and it halted his hair loss. It has been over a year now and he has not lost anymore hair (it has not helped regrow in his bald spots). She also told me that she orders it for chemo patients and it has helped them not to lose all of their hair. So, I bought some. They recommend you start treatment 45 days before surgery or chemo but there are products to use if the hair loss is in the advanced state. I am 4 weeks post op and usually I lose hair by the brushfulls after anesthetic. I have not lost any hair at all. Nothing in my drain. My hair looks very healthy. I will keep you up to date as time goes by but so far so good. My hairdresser let me get it at her cost. With shipping and handling a liter of shampoo and conditioner was less than $50. I just ordered another bottle of conditioner as I have long hair and I use much more conditioner than I do shampoo. This stuff feels great. It tingles and is cool. Long after I get out of the shower my head still feels cool. I think it is because of the mint in it. Anyway if you are interested you can read up on it at www.nioxin.com As far as the scarring goes with the lap, I have 6 scars. The longest is 1 inch and the smallest is about 1/4 of an inch. Right now they are pretty reddish but I have seen others that had their surgery way before me and they are just barely pink. The longer the time goes by they will fade away to look like little scratches. It is amazing. Guest guest
I've read several posts where they've said that Zinc has helped them stop their hairloss. It's worth a shot! > I am curious if any of you post-ops have experienced the hair loss Dr. Ren > told me might occur, how much of a loss and how long did it take to stop? > Also curious how the scars from the lap incisions are down the road . . . > Thanks for your input > > Debbie
