Guest guest
have you tried pecan butter rather than almond???For a while I made pecan honey squares with homemade pecan butter. Then I noticed a bunch of tiny black specks in my D (eww I know) and thought it was bits of pecan that hadn't been digested. But I stopped the squares a couple weeks back and the black specks are still there...dunno what it is.I buy my almond butter (365 brand) so it's nice to just have it and not have to make it, and I would have to make the pecan butter. If I did end up doing this, how long would it last in the fridge? Guest guest
Hi Alyssa.. I just got this too! Looked like black sesame seeds. I do not eat anything that would look like this! You ever have your stool checked for parasites? Integrative lab is the way to go like Genova. Guest guest
You ever have your stool checked for parasites?Ugh. That's what they checked AND treated me for when I first had a UC flare (undiagnosed) in april 08. They put me on flagyl, and those were arguably the worst 10 days of my life. I think for now I'll just live in denial. Guest guest
Alyssa.. Flagyl makes me feel like crap too.. such a bummer. I was on it so many times over the past years ughh.. Still if you think there may be parasites or bad microbes you gotta get stool checked.. best to go with an integrative lab and get a rectal swab. Total bummer. So many microbes have become resistant to antibiotics and Flagyl it scares me. Jodi

Guest guest
Alyssa.. BTW, this happens to many IBD'ers that they get dx'd with some critter before the actual IBD dx. It's interesting to say the least.. Jodi

I'd have some other symptoms, right? And don't all people with gut issues have bad microbes? Or is that just bad bacteria? Anyways, I thought of what else it might be. Banana seeds. They are tiny and black, and I eat them usually every day, so that could explain it.. Guest guest
Alyssa.. > I doubt it. I'd have some other symptoms, right? And don't all people > with gut issues have bad microbes? Or is that just bad bacteria? Depends.. some people live with some pretty crazy critters for years! Microbes means everything. I don't know your situation and I am not in your body.. But if you see you are not getting better and tolerance isn't adjusting this is totally an avenue to look into. Jodi
Guest guest
The almond butter has specks in it too, from the skins. Maybe that's what it is?
