Hi ,

You can still use the glycerin and mint extract for him. The baking soda can be used only once per week. Have you tried a dry toothbrush? I actually recommend that for kids with braces. This way the child and/or you can actually see what you are doing and clean the teeth properly. I commend you for brushing your son's teeth for him because most kids don't have the dexterity or the ability to look in the mirror and properly brush until they hit puberty ( earlier for girls).

If your son is swallowing while brushing, then you are doing absolutely the right thing for him ( minus the baking soda). Is he ASD?

It is too abrasive and will wear away the enamel, as previously discussed in the thread.

If it's something you are concerned about, then follow through on it.

Elaine was concerned about small amounts of illegals, but in general, she

did not worry about toothpaste.

However, as has been noted over and over, we are all different, and

what's a concern for one person may not be a concern for someone

else.
