Guest guest
Pat I did get a revision from a failed VBG that was done in 1993 and failed about 1995. I went to Dr. Anthone at USC for surgery on 1 November 2000. In just 6 months I have lost 76 lbs. And, the beauty of the DS is that I can actually eat real food. I don't know why so many on the list get extra protein in powder form, or liquid. I never supplement what I eat w/protein. Anyway, I feel great. The surgery was easy (you're asleep), but the recovery did take a little time. I was able to go back to work at 6 weeks, but really didn't start to feel like myself until about 3 months out. Of course, losing the weight really helps you get around much better. I didn't have a real high BMI when I had my surgery. It was " only " 41.5, but I did keep off the 30 lbs I didn't regain after the failed VBG. I haven't tried the chat rooms for along time. AT AMOS its always the very same people all of the time. I think one lady just sits there all day everyday in the chat room. They also don't respond well to DS questions and answers. I also joined the OSSG revision group, but, man, they have such problems from the RNy. I am so glad I didn't have to go that route. it seems as if the weight doesn't stay off after the RNY and they are getting revisions from that to go more distal. Two WLS surgeries were enough for me. I wouldn't relish another one. Blessed Be Cat Woman
