Hi-

Tomorrow will be my 5 month anniversary of surgery, this morning i weighed in at 186, in three more pounds i will have lost 100 pounds total since my journey began. I have posted a picture of myself and my friend Shonda, we both had our surgery together on the same day, our surgeons assisted in each others surgery. We met through a woman i had met in a class, she gave Shonda my email and we emailed for about two months before our surgery, we met the day before stayed at the same hotel in san francisco, had our last meal together and have just become the best of friends. We call ourselves the twins, and oddly enough in this photo without planning we our wearing almost the same thing even down to her red white and blue hightops to my red white and blue flag sandals...............we wonder if there was something in the anthesia LOL.....................I feel really lucky to have had this surgey and to have gained such a good friend, I feel like i have known her for

years and our husbands get along really well also, god is so good to me ! I am now 41 pounds from my goal weight , way to cool !

Hope everyones weekend is a good one

A very Happy

Still pretty darned tired. I eased into work...worked a few hours each day...and then Friday, i was sick (Thursday, I wound up getting sick into my trashcan a zillion times...and not because I ate anything I wasn't supposed to.) Not dumping, exactly, more things getting stuck. Today I'm better....

Oy...

I was told that sometimes the pouch gets collicky for a little while once you've been out for six weeks or so...I'm ahead of schedule on that, but hey...

I'm down 25 lbs. since the surgery, and 51 in total... YAY!!

Still ebbs and flows. I mean, don't get me wrong...I am the original Energizer bunny...so I really don't have much to complain about. I worked out at the gym for 2 hours the other day...an hour on the Elliptical, and an hour with the trainer...i still manage to get up and down the four flights of stairs up to my apartment. I have been reasonably active...but at the same time, I definitely feel fatigued. i sleep more than usual. I'm sure part of it is that I'm not eating much, and I have a lot of muscle...so my body is kinda freakin' out a bit. And part of it is that my body is expending energy trying to use my fat stores instead of its usual process to burn glucose as fuel.

So, I get that. I think more than anything, it has been a surprise to e that I'm taking such a long time to feel completely NORMAL. You know?

With laproscopic, once the pain of the incisions and the muscle pain is gone (which happens much more quickly than with open), it's hard to remember that you had major major surgery...and that your body is still recovering, you know? I'm still healing, and it takes a while, that's all!!
