Guest guest
Elaine G. Gottschall's birthday today. Elaine Gottschall is missed by the entire SCD community. She was an amazing and special woman. It was an honor to correspond with her, and a delight to meet her in the UK in 2002. She left a legacy of healing and caring. May we not only remember her, but carry on her work. THAT is the greatest gift we can give the world -- to keep the research of Dr. Hass, passed to Elaine, alive. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Elaine was such a blessing to the world in so many ways! I was lucky enough to have the chance to talk with her when I was battling breast cancer in 2003, as well as emailing her - and she was always caring, compassionate and full of helpful information. She is sorely missed! I'm wondering if anyone else has had some of the symptoms I've had on and off lately for the last week or so - some fleeting sensations of numbness in the lips, tip of tongue, ends of fingers/toes, etc. I remember having had some fleeting moments of this over 10 yrs ago before I found out I had Crohn's and it seemed to be related to intestinal inflammation, but nothing specific was ever found. They did a bunch of tests then (including brain MRI and other tests for neurologic issues like MS & all were negative.) It didn't progress and in fact I haven't felt it for most of the last 10 yrs, but it's been back again a few times for the past week or so. I'm going to see my acupuncturist about it tomorrow but wanted to find out if anyone else here with intestinal issues has experienced these sensations from time to time? Ellen M. August marks 3 years on the SCD for Crohn's. No meds, no symptoms. Only the SCD. Oh, and did I mention I gave birth to healthy twins in March? I said a little prayer of thanks to Elaine. She has saved many lives. Jill www.scdadventures.blogspot.com Congratulations to you!
