Guest guest
Tom Could be any or all or a mix of the five things you mention.... I have had bad experiences with all digestive enzymes I have tried over the past six years. Most of the time I get immune responses (hives, respiratory distress), but my upper GI also becomes fussy. So I do without. I'm hoping to find out which enzyme I need the most and just supplement that one; my body tolerates individual ingredients a lot better than multiple. Of course, my upper and lower GI can become cranky at the smallest changes in diet or trying supplements. Magnesium loosens stools, and might also increase peristalsis. In other words, if you're prone to D., you'll have more of it. If you're like me, dealing with chronic C., then the extra magnesium helps move things along. I need to supplement magnesium due to muscle cramps (and I'm low in it) in addition to helping digestive motility, but my body only tolerates 100mg per day, and I have to skip one day every 4 days. I do use a cal/mag powder once a week in place of straight magnesium, but it too needs to be around 100mg and mixed in water to get it past my upper GI. I often have pinched nerves, but haven't had a full-body adjustment so can't share any experiences with that. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that some bodies react to it. And, of course, stress and poor sleep will affect our digestions. So, any and all of these causes could be at play. You will have to experiment to determine which is the problem. Kim M. Guest guest
Tom, " >3)(this one's a wild card) Had a first-time osteophathic adjustment for a pinched nerve in back (when it rains, it flash-floods, eh). The osteopath said some people can have strong reaction to full body adjustment, including D; I don't have D, fortunately, but increased cramping and indigestion. Anyone have similar experience. " Any kind of stress to my body produces various digestive symptoms, so I would not rule this one out at all. I had a lumbar puncture yesterday yesterday, and am having terrible D today - stress, plus the fact that the needle went in three times, and the doctor touched varying nerves that sent pain into diffrent areas of my hips, abdomen, and legs while looking for the site is contributing to my malaise today, I am CERTAIN.
