I definitely agree with this.

I'd rather eat a little more cellulose than ingest a bunch of random

chemicals. Many pharmaceuticals contain illegals anyways, so I'll take

the illegal that I know is natural.

I use a supplement which is not SCD legal for control of muscle spasm in

my back. My alternative is soma compound with codeine, which knocks me

out. Around 1987-88, I was on the verge of becoming a prescription junkie

when I found this supplement.

I discussed this supplement with Elaine. We concluded that the benefits

which I derived from it far outweighed the illegals, especially since

" Other ingredients in the Soma Compound with Codeine drug product

are croscarmellose sodium, D & C Yellow #10, hypromellose, magnesium

stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium metabisulfite,

starch, and stearic acid. "

So yes, I use that supplement -- but the result is that I must be much

more careful about everything else I do.

It is not just the polysaccharides that might be in an herb, although

that can be a major factor. It is also the action of the herb itself and

how it may interact with everything else.

You are currently taking an iron supplement which is very illegal. That

means you have to be significantly more careful about everything

else.

It's very, very easy to rationalize, " But one little illegal here

won't be a problem, especially not since the rest of it is so good for

me. " And then, " So this little illegal won't be a problem,

either... " and " And this one, and this one, and this

one.... " And pretty soon, you'll have " one little

illegalled " yourself right off SCD, and you'll be saying, " But

SCD doesn't work... " Well, no... it sure can't work if you aren't

following it!
