Guest guest
Eileen!! sounds like die off and maybe a bit of a cold to me...my kids ALWAYS get some amount of D with die off..don't you? You aren't GIVING him problems...you are killing them and dragging them out of his body. Step back and look at him not as your baby (hard, I know) but as if it were you...it is either die off or intolerance but this diet won't hurt him...it is the cleanest food he has had since he was a baby. Possibly you are introducing food too quickly since you perceive him as not having " any problems " . Give his body time to adjust and take it all in. I think it is great you are trying this for him. Can't hurt...can only help or do nothing, IMO. :)Chrissy mama to 3 boys on SCD and thriving. > > son is 3 weeks in but 5 days since proper intro - he had no problems i'm trying > this to help his slight speech delay (also has celiac no symptoms but yeast in > stool) > so now...the poor kid has D!!! never had problems and i'm giving him problems!!! > what now ??? he's really just intro still plus some fish and some cow yogurt and > today a bit of goat > also runny nose and hurting ears-maybe a cold as siblings are sharing some nose > symptoms etc > > > Eileen 20 months scd >

Guest guest
Eileen.. So you understand that there is a connection between the brain and the gut, right? There is a lot of data about this. So bad gut dysbiosis or bad gut ecology affects the brain, right? So some have symptoms that manifest more in neuro or brain symptoms while others have symptoms that manifest more in gut symptoms. We get bad ecology from over exposure to antibiotics, being sugar and starch heavy eaters.. inheriting our mothers bad ecology.. When we go in there and correct this- new symptoms *can* appear while old *disappear* or the old symptoms get a lot worse. It manifests in a multitude of ways. This is just how it works. You are not doing anything to him, if at all you can see how his system is so connected. It sure does not help you to panic and blame yourself for doing this to him. You should check out certain things about the GAPS intro with giving your little guy more healthy fats and broths. Take some deep breaths and calm down. Guest guest
Jodi, I talked to you over on Gay's listserve about my daughter's crohn's and you and kathy referred me to this yahoo group. I am now trying to get in on this group - but I have a few questions. How do I receive the e-mails from this group? How do I post questions and receive answers? Does this work through e-mail will it send the e-mails to my e-mail site or do I go to the yahoo group site every time? Thanks for your help, Dene' > > Eileen.. > > So you understand that there is a connection between the brain and the gut, right? There is a lot of data about this. Guest guest
Personally, I won't go back because I don't want to end up sick again. I've read too many stories of people who left SCD, and a few years later had to come back to it because they were sick again. SCD foods are tasty, so it's really no loss to stick with it.
