Hi Carol,

I am 8 months out, my common channel is approximately 75 cm and as

of this morning I have lost 110 pounds. From 299 to 189. I have 39

pounds to go. My blood work came out perfect. My cholesterol was down

to 119! Everything else was normal...and my triglycerides were

amazingly low!!!

Hi Carol,

I'm 4 1/2 months out and I've lost 88 of the 225 lbs. I need to lose.

My common channel is 100 cm.

My common channel is 75 cm. I had my surgery on 8/22/00 -- all the stats

below. Next Tuesday will be 9 months since my surgery and I am five pounds

from goal!!!! I'm VERY happy with my 75er! =) Wishing you the very best!

| +Yesterday (Wednesday May 16th) I had all my pre-surgery tests done.

| When I am asked my doctor (Dr. Buckwald in MN) how long my common

| channel would be, he said 75cm. I asked if we could go with 50cm and he

| said no 50 is too dangerous. I have been researching the surgery for

| quite some time going over and over it but still dont understand the

| actual mechaniics of the surgery. I am not a stupid person but for some

| reason this just click in my head. So my question is what other people

| have for their commom channel length and how it is working them.

Hi, I am 8 weeks post-op and have lost 56 lbs. from 272 to 216. My

common channel is 80 cm. I agree that 50cm would be too short. You

don't want to have long term problems with malabsorbtion. I think

between 75 and 100 is more practical and you will have good weight

loss with that amount.
