As I recall, the law student R, who is the owner of this list served

as judge and jury and decided that what Deb was posting was " slander " .

Apparently she got lots of off list mail attacking Deb. I get my fair share

of off list mail attacking me for supporting Deb's right to post her

feelings and experiences and get support in return.

I wrote on 5/9 what was, I thought, a reasonable response to her post

questioning her interpretation of slander. She did not respond to me on or

off list.

As the list owner she has the power to make such decisions. There is no

requirement that she be fair or even handed. That's one of the ugly facts

about lists such as this one. We may feel that it is ours, but in fact, the

owner can moderate or ban any member without it being fair or in the best

interests of the majority of members.

I too keep Deb in my thoughts. She made many fine contributions to this

list.

I for one am just as interested in complications as I

am the success stories. Could someone please fill me

in on what happened?
