Thank you Pam, I woke up at about 4 this morning, I called the nurses station to see how he was.... and he was up walking right there! I got to say hi, send a telephone kiss and hug, and that sure made me feel much better. Our experiences with him in the hospital have not been fun.... in 1987 he went in for a lower GI, the demerol was contaminated from the maker somehow.... the other people who got some of the med in that vial had to spend the night in the hospital....Randy spent the better part of three years in the hospital and was fully disabled for over ten years because of it. He was a much larger person than the others and recieved the brunt of the meds. It was called Toxic Epidemal Necosis, while it was not Kaisers fault exactly, it was Kaiser where it was done and Kaiser that kept him alive....thank God. When things like that happen you meet the best of the best in medical care. However, in the aftermath, he has developed severe allergies to so many drugs,

morphine demerol, sulfa, codine, and we only find out by chance.... when he breaks out and swells up with staph or just nasty hives. So this was very scary for us.... UCLA was outstanding! No breaking out, no fever, and now we pray, what was a borderline case of diabetes that turned into brittle diabetes after that day in 1987, will go into hiding. He will always be diabetic, just hopefully not so brittle....tthe days of blood sugars going from 60 to 602 in one day will be gone! It's gonna be great! Randy is my life, we have been through so much together..... Raised 5 beautiful and perfect kids, no grandkids yet thank goodness! And it is so exciting to see him come through this so effortlessly! He said his belly is sore.... well not bad to only have that! The doctor told me it took a little longer than expected in surgery because he is so big.... I told him it would be okay to skip 24 hour fittness last night after taking such great care of Randy. Enough for now, time for work.

Thank you all again!

and in his room about 6:30. When I left he was resting, he had not

been up walking yet, but I work tomorrow, and we were up early this

morning! I'm about 1 and 1/2 hours away without traffic....but it's

the 405, so there is always heavy traffic. I just got home. He was not

fun at all..hahaha. His lap dance never arrived in recovery, he never

moaned or whined about the pain, no medical emergencies.....BORING!

Just the way it should be! The guys at UCLA are great! We joked about

his panty hose and lipgloss.... they used vaseline on his lips in

recovery, and support stockings. I told him he better be out of the

sexy nighty (the one that opens in the back) by tomorrow or I'll start

to worry! I want to thank you all for your support while learning

about this process.... you have been amazing! Hugs and thanks! Good

night!
