Getting ready and getting nervous..........!!

Hi all.

My name is .I'm new to this board and looking forward to

talking with and meeting people who are having or have had the WLS.

I recently went to my first support group at Oakland Kaiser and was

pleasantly surprised how welcoming and supportive the group was.(I

hope I can make more of the meetings...thanks Pasha)

A lil about me...Im 38 yrs old and I work for BART as a train

operator.(no snide remarks please!!) I own a home out in the Central

Valley and have a wonderful and supportive partner of 5yrs, two

crazy Jack dogs and a group of friends that are really great.

I was offered the WLS about three yrs ago but turned it down

because I didnt know enough about it and wanted to do more research

before I agreed on a major surgery like this. Well as you can see I

now agree and my surgery date is July 19th.....this Tuesday!!!

With all that said... as much as everyone is supportive of me I

know that they cant really relate what I will be going through

unless they have experienced the surgery. Hence the reason I am here

and thankfully there is a HERE to come to and ask questions.
