Guest guest
Thank you for your compliment. I just want you to be happy whether you are 150/140 or whatever that magic number is for you. Still beautiful regardless of what you weigh. You should be proud of what you have accomplished because I know I am. I am in the 160s, wearing 10s (and most of the stuff is from the juniors department now) heading to 8s and people say don't lose anymore. I can admit that I don't weigh myself everyday anymore because I am getting content knowing that the day will come when I will hit goal. Until then, I will enjoy this ride as I am 5 months post op. I also understand all too wel that it is a personal thing to so whatever I can do to help you, please let me know. Hugs to you darlin. Guest guest
: Ok, I haven't met you yet, but you are extremely supportive of me on this site, so it is my turn. LOCK THE SCALE IN THE GARAGE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You CANNOT and SHOULD NOT weigh yourself everyday. It is unhealthy and encourages unhealthly behavior. YOu are doing the right thing by emailing the doctor....let him guide you in what you need to do. It is highly likely that everyone's weigh fluctuates daily, up to several pounds. Water retention, time of the month, salty foods, anything can be the culprit. AND LET US NOT FORGET THAT MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT!!!!!!!! YOu say that you have been exercising like crazy....this could in itself be the answer. SO relax, take a deep breath, STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE, and keep up the good work. BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSSS! > > Glad to see you are sticking with it . Guest guest
Hi , I am so glad that you are going to get a grip on the situation. I know from experience what you are going through. Funny how going back to the basics always seems to be the solution. This is such a wonderful group because you can always feel the love and support from everyone. Guest guest
Thank you I had a long talk with Dr Fisher today. I am stopping all protein shakes and bars for now. He also wants me to stop popcorn, peanut butter, cheese and refried beans. He said to stay away from soft high calorie foods. I AM TAKING PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and always have. All of us get in a place where we need help, I just seem to need it often LOL. But I have to learn some how, and Im trying not to beat myself up. I need this site so that I can vent and get support when Im having trouble. For the most part, everyone on this site has reached out to me with love and support when I need it the most. I called my surgeon and am following HIS recommendations, after all thats what got me to 150 in the first place. My scale has been hidden in the garage by my hubby. He wont give it back to me for a month. If I need to weigh in before that Im going to call my PCP and weigh in at the clinic once a week or every two weeks. I gotta get this obsession with the scale handled. Thanks for your support and encouragement!! Huggles > > > Glad to see you are sticking with it . Guest guest
-- What did Dr. Fisher say to do? Go back to 3 meals a day? I'm just curious.... Tina ps -- I'm glad you had hubby hide the scale. Go as long as you can without weighing. Make a reward for yourself (like a massage or something) if you make it the month without weighing. > > > > Glad to see you are sticking with it . Guest guest
Dr Fisher told me no more shakes or bars period. He said to avoid soft foods like cheese, refried beans, sour cream, peanut butter and of course popcorn. He said three meals a day, but that if I was really really hungry between lunch and dinner(12 noon to 630) have a light snack like yogurt to keep me from binging on everything in site. Its basically get back to the basics, get back to what got me to 150 in the first place. I dont have my comforter/antagonizer the scale this morning and Im going nuts!!! This is going to be the hardest part I think. LOL, but hubby is strong, he wont give it back. Huggles > > > > > Glad to see you are sticking with it . Guest guest
Well popcorn and peanut butter are my trigger foods anyway...I know for me Im better off staying away from them. But the cheese and refried beans Im having trouble with. I mean my husband is hispanic!! We eat beans alot!! We refry our own and dont use any oil. But Dr Fisher, and others, tell me they count more as carbs. Sigh I havent come up with a replacement yet. And here I thought I was doing good...beans...protein...skipping the tortilla. For the string cheese I am doing yogurt instead. Although string cheese is actually ok. Its the other high fat cheeses I need to stay away from for a while.
