Guest guest
Let me be the first to congratulate you and just say WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!! -Sherry (Lake Marcel, WA) BPD/DS Feb. 2, 2001 self-pay 5'5 " / 359 pounds / 33 years old Lost 9 pounds in pre-op weight loss efforts Have lost 52 pounds since surgery! Total of 61 pounds gone forEVER! http://www.fluffynet.com/wls/ > ...I GOT A DATE! > > Hi gang- > I had my consult with Dr. Pomp in NYC yesterday. He's great fun (this I say because we already know what I fine surgeon he is). Because of my BMI he offered me the two step lap option (the one where they do the sleeve gastrectomy in one lap surgery and then I return in 3-4 months for the biliopancreatic switch). Not wanting two separate surgeries, I chose the open procedure. I'm a little bummed out about it, but it'll pass. I also discovered that I am not 5' 6 " like I thought for all these years, but that I am only a mere 5' 5 " ; -] (he said I was small !!! That's gotta be the first time in my life that anybody's ever used those words when referring to me). > > As for insurance, when I mentioned having Aenta neither Dr. Pomp, nor his glorious Medical Assistant, Nichole seemed to think there would be any problem getting them to pay. We won't know for sure until after my endoscopy on 4/12. They will submit for approval after they get they results from that. > > So, G-d willing, I shall be switched on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at 9am by the wonderful, magical Dr. Alfons Pomp at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City ! Beings that it's never too soon to ask, I'll take any Angelling that anyone cares to offer - and visitors will be strongly encouraged : 0) > > To all those about to have their surgeries, I wish you a safe & comfortable journey to the other side! > > Cohen > Phila., PA > BMI 63, age 39 > Aetna USHC, HMO - doc thinks they will pay! > Open DS w/ Dr. Pomp, 9am on Wed., June 20, 2001
