Guest guest
Okay, so this is the end of my third month on the diet, and I've had D for a pretty good while now. Probably a couple weeks. Do you think this is the 3 month flare? My parents hate me having D and want to stop it at all costs (sort of). Any advice? I know I should go back on intro, but I can't with school. It's just not an option. Maybe this weekend l'll try. I'm now taking boulardii and iron, and haven't had any terrible affects from the iron yet. It just turned my D from orange to black. Yay colors. Heh. So anyways, TIA for any D stopping advice!! Guest guest
Calcium is a good binder (without magnesium). The dry curd cottage cheese is a good binder- if you can get it. Sometimes it's at Whole Foods, or they may order it for you. Friendship dairy is a good brand. DCCC is also pretty high in calories. Do you think > this is the 3 month flare? Um, very possibly, but that is just guesswork. It's hard to be definite even for oneself, let alone for someone else. If you were doing much better or at least somewhat better, then you started cycling backwards and now are not at the same level you were at before (though not all the way back to the beginning- - though sometimes the difference is smallish) and it has been going on for a while - then it likely is, but I can't say for sure. > My parents hate me having D and want to > stop it at all costs (sort of). Without doing full intro, can you eat a lot of meat and bone broths, at night - for the anti-inflammatory properties? Also coconut oils. I had periods like this on SCD - not out and out D, but softish stools with rather more frequency than ideal - that's the non-linear part of SCD, sometimes you cycle back to periods like that. Also, there is still LDN. LDN made my recovery, as I have mentioned before, go from non-linear to linear. > I'm now taking boulardii and iron, and haven't had > any terrible affects from the iron yet. It just turned my D from > orange to black. Yay colors. Indeed. Orange and black - just like Halloween with none of the fun or the candy! Is it powdery D or full D? Um, not to be, um, stalkerish and voyeuristic with the questions or anything. Mara

Guest guest
Is it powdery D or full D?Um, not to be, um, stalkerish and voyeuristicwith the questions or anything. <vbg>lol =) Thanks for your response Mara! I've never used the term 'powdery' before for D. I've always just used watery, explosive, urgent, mashed potatoes...and maybe some others. Right now, mine is quite watery, though little substance actually comes out. It's mostly gas that forces me to go, but I can feel wetness pushing at my rectum so I can't just fart, ya know? And once I feel it it's pretty urgent. I usually go 3-4 x a day. Oh, and it always smells terrible. And is loud. Not good for school =(( Anyways, sorry for the graphic grossness =) Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds =)

And once I feel it it's pretty urgent. I usually go 3-4 x a day. The good news is that 3-4 is not at all bad, as normal is considered1-3 daily, even if the texture is not ideal. Sound effects and smell seem to indicate that fermentationin the gut is still going on - things are not being digestedproperly giving the bacteria time to go to work. I forget - are you taking a digestive enzyme? Orhave you? I wonder if that would help. Also - you have the oral thrush, so you think youhave yeasties, correct? Seems like another possibility is that your initial die off caused an over population of hard to eradicate yeast - andD and gas are both symptoms of that. As is thrush. Are you taking an anti-yeast protocol? There are drugsfor this, not just food. Many people find them effective. Have you read all of Kim's files in the fileslink in the webpage? I forget - are you taking a digestive enzyme? Orhave you? I was taking HCL, but then I ran out, and then I took digest gold, but then I just...didn't. I haven't taken it in a while. Would you recommend digest gold or HCL?I wonder if that would help. Also - you have the oral thrush, so you think youhave yeasties, correct? Yep. Seems like another possibility is that your initial die off caused an over population of hard to eradicate yeast - andD and gas are both symptoms of that. As is thrush. That's my main suspicion. Are you taking an anti-yeast protocol? There are drugsfor this, not just food. Many people find them effective. No...I'm just doing the boulardii (upped to 2 caps today) and coconut oil. Oh, does non virgin coconut oil still have antifungal properties? And how many caps a day of boulardii should I work up to?Have you read all of Kim's files in the fileslink in the webpage?
